What changed about visitation after HB 25-1013?

Current as of Jul 23, 2026
Supported across official sources

Visitation is governed by AR 300-01 and facility-level operating rules.

Visitors must be approved in advance, present valid identification, and follow entry and search procedures. Minors must be listed on the application and accompanied as required.[1]

Contact visits are generally permitted within stated limits, but the Administrative Head may impose non-contact conditions when there is a substantiated security risk. Facility schedules, space, and staffing can also affect visit length and availability.[2]

CDOC identified AR 300-01 as one of the regulations revised in connection with HB 25-1013. The pilot treats that update as change evidence and keeps the current regulation as the controlling policy source.[3]

Important boundary

This explains the public policy. It does not decide whether a particular visitor will be approved or whether a specific visit will occur.
